My Favourite TV-Shows

Today I want to write about a not-so-bookish topic, which I still thought might interest you: My favourite TV-shows. When I am not reading (or doing some useful stuff like working or studying), I am usually watching some kind of series. As with standalone novels, I am not as huge a fan of movies as I am of series, so I watched a lot of them and those are my favs:

1. Supernatural (2005 - ongoing)

When I first watched Supernatural I was like 14 years old and it scared the hell out of me. Nonetheless I knew I would love it and I watched every single episode, that had aired before. Since then I watched every episode as soon as it came out - and I still love it so much, please never let it stop!
So, what is it about? It is about those two brothers who hunt demons, vampires and every other mythical creature you can (or cannot) imagine. Also they have to deal with Lucifer, they die like every single season (but somehow they always find a way to trick death).

2. Castle (2009 - 2016)

Of course I had to put Castle on here - I mean a show about an author? What more can you wish for?
What is the show about? The writer Richard Castle (hence the show's name) wants to experience crime scenes first hand, so his next book will be as close to reality as possible. That's why he joins a NYPD-detective on her job and begins solving crimes by her side.

3. Pretty Little Liars (2010 - 2017)

I watched Gossip Girl when I was young and everyone told me I would enjoy Pretty Little Liars too - so I began watching it and damn, I am obsessed! Honestly I can't think of a show, which features more plot twists.
What is it about? There is this group of friends in high school, who lost their friend (she is missing, but honestly? Everyone thinks she is dead). Now they get mysterious texts from an unknown number, which lead them from one tragic event to the next.

4. Criminal Minds (2005 - ongoing)

This is a show I started watching with my best friend at the time. It was just different to most crime-solving dramas and we just had to watch episode after episode. Even now, I keep watching and it just never gets boring.
What is the show about? It is about this unit within the FBI, which focuses on finding serial killers. To do so they analyse the killer's behaviour (they are a team of profilers). Now, every case is different and shows an other approach to catching a murderer, which makes this show so perfect.

5. Arrow (2012 - ongoing)

I think everybody has heard of DC's (Green) Arrow (if not of the TV-show, than of the comics) and since I always enjoyed superhero movies I needed to watch this series and I never regretted it!
What is it about? Our hero - the Arrow - fights crime in the streets of Central City. The story begins with him arriving back at his home town after being missing for five years (which we get to know more about over the course of the show). When he arrives, his goal is to fulfil his father's last wish and kill the men that he was told to kill to save his city. Now we are taken on the Arrow's journey from a mere killer (because honestly, that's what he is at first) to becoming the well-known hero who just fights with a bow and arrow.

Also Worth Mentioning:

Mr. Robot, Gotham, The Flash, NCIS: Los Angeles, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, Riverdale

Now it's your turn to let me know: What are your favourite TV-shows and what are they about? I am always open for new suggestions!
PS: If you are like me and watch like 50 shows at once and don't really know, how to keep track on what you already watched, I would highly suggest you download the app "Episoder" (you can just check the episode you already watched and it will inform you when new episodes are aired etc.)
