Layla tries to be a normal teenager - she goes to a normal High School and tries to fit in, which is hard considering she isn't even human and lives with Wardens - gargoyles, who were sent to earth to protect the humans from demons. Considering all this and Layla's ability to take a soul with one kiss, which she has because of her demon-mother (who the hell she might be?), her life is pretty messed up already and it gets even weirder, when the upper-level demon Roth enters her bio-class and turns her world upside down.

Review:
Okay, I have to say: the "never judge a book by its cover"-thing has never been more true - just look at this cover: honestly, I didn't like it at all, but the book was written by Jennifer L. Armentrout, so I thought I would give it a try nonetheless - and I didn't regret it! It's a light fantasy novel filled with drama, love and friendship - an all in all easy-read or easy-listen, because I went to Audible to get it and I have to say, that I really liked the narrator for this series!
